Betty Turner didn't become famous over night. Her well acclaimed company including Heather Coleman Boyd 1999, The Bo Hendricksen Trio 2000-2003 and Jeff Burden & Associates 2004 made her sharp piano sound and compositions well known all over the world's hot spots of modern jazz. Some of her ballads became standards – like "Ruler Hat" Jeremy Pearl once called "the dark little brother of 'My Funny Valentine'." (Jazz Voice, Vol. 14, 2002)
